Message From Signe
I look forward to our Winter Concert, “The Spirit of Song”. This will be the first time this year that all our singers will be together. The spirit of song will resonate from our hearts to your hearts. We will perform a potpourri of music from different cultures, in different languages. Often, after a successful semester and concert, parents want to move to the next level. Here are my thoughts.
“To Move or Not to Move?” is frequently asked, especially by Prep and Intermediate parents. It is important to keep in mind that Cantabile is a process, and we take our singers through this process in a planned, methodical way. You can plan on your child being in one level for a least a year. One of our singers stayed in Intermediate for 3 years! He was persistent and worked on issues that needed improvement. We admired his perseverance and commitment. There are certain goals the teachers work towards during that year. Each of our levels has written requirements that a singer must fulfill before moving up to the next level. A singer might be strong in one area, but needs help in another. Each of our teachers has a copy of these level requirements , should you want to review them. Our teachers are highly trained and give much thought to your singer and what is best for him/her.
