Hi Prep 1 Families!
This week we worked on vocal exploration, ta titi, and the notes mi-sol and La.
We started class with the fun circle song My Little Boat. The fun part of this song is that I am beginning to hear them sing more strongly now.
The children really enjoyed the call and response song Charlie Over the Ocean.
We explored our different vocal registers by saying the chant 1, 2, 3, 4 Mary at the Kitchen Door using different animal sounds.
We practiced keeping the beat and then derived the rhythm of the song Snail, Snail. The children were able to help me write the ta’s and titi’s on the board, and then able to read a new rhythm from the board.
We sang and danced Jeremiah, Blow the Fire, and then derived the melody of the song. We put the notes on the tone ladder, and the children followed my lead as we sang from the tone ladder. This led us to our next game song, Little Sally Water, which has the same notes in a different context.
We sang the recital song This is my Trunk, and enjoyed a round of Percy the Pale Faced Polar Bear.
Thanks, and I’ll see you next week!
