Bravi and V.T.G. Rehearsal Blog

Dear Bravi,

I was so proud of you, both on Monday and Tuesday! Both on the combined repertoire and on your solo repertoire you sound confident and beautiful. Don’t forget to sing in the same way on your concert tomorrow!  🙂

At the bottom you will find notes giving the specifics of tomorrow’s performance. Please don’t hesitate to email me if you have any questions beforehand. (david@cantabile.org) And now, a few notes about each piece:

Solo Rep:

Go Tell It – this sounded good! Don’t oversing, but certainly project to the back of the hall. Please review the dynamics we discussed at our last rehearsal. These will add the glisten to the piece that it will not have otherwise.

The Rose – this sounds nice, but please review your entrances here one more time so that you are able to come in confidently when you should.

You Got Ta Move – fun – always be conscious of your tempo!

I Wish You Christmas – two things. Firstly, please be careful not to sing when you are not supposed to – changed voices really stick out when they come in incorrectly. Secondly, please work on your sound on your own “I wish you Christmas, a merry Christmas” – this has been very hit-or-miss recently as far as tone goes, and usually more miss than hit. Please sing lightly in almost a head voice sound. THINK TENOR!!

Twas The Night Before Christmas – diction. Above everything else – the audience needs to know the story.

Give Us Hope – make sure you are memorized accurately. Tenors, please don’t push on the a cappella section.

It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year – have fun on this one! Please know what your words are at your solo sections, and sing confidently and in the mask. AND SMILE!!!   🙂

Thanks, and I’ll see you then!
