Greetings, Prep 3 Singers!

Thank you for a great first week of rehearsal! It was great to meet some new singers, and to see so many familiar faces. We are off to a great start, and this will be a wonderful session of music, learning, and fun! Please see the two messages below – the first is from Laney, to her Monday Prep 3 Class. The second is from Katie (me!) to my Tuesday Prep 3 Class.

From Laney:

  • We learned a new canon:
  • Laughing, Singing
  • We learned a new dance/game: Oats and Beans and Barley
  • We started learning three different songs you can review at home:
  • We ended with Music Alone Shall Live

This week, we also got our new musicianship books! Each week, students should be completing two pages of the book and bringing it to class with them, along with their binder. Periodically, Laney will collect them for to look them over and be sure the work is being done and done accurately! Please see this schedule to stay on top of your assignments. Keep up! It will be much easier than trying to catch up all at once!

From Katie:

  • We learned a new canon:
  •  Two New Blue Balloons
  •  We started learning three different songs you can review at home:
  • We also played a fun name game called Zacody Cody, and learned a new warm up called “Red Socks!” We ended with our familiar dance, “Great Big House in New Orleans.” Next week, we will learn an Irish Jig, in honor of our focus on music from Ireland, Scotland and Wales!

This week, we also got our new musicianship books! Each week, students should be completing two pages of the book and bringing it to class with them, along with their binder.
