Allegro Blog

Hello Allegro Singers & Families,

I hope you are all staying healthy and safe! We are happy to have had such a lovely response to our first week of Cantabile DistanSing livestream rehearsals. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we refine this system and as always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions or feedback.

Jazmine and I are working together and in constant contact regarding the lesson planning for these rehearsals and I will pop in to say hello as I am able! Here is a link to the Choraltech Sightsinging Student Program. This is an extensive sightsinging program. Allegro singers are currently working on exercises 1-25.  We will be bouncing around this resources as we work on sightsinging examples with different meters, rhythmic and melodic components, and/or in different key signatures. For now, we are focusing on exercises in the key of C-Major and that move by step-wise motion.

For this week’s rehearsal (March 31), singers will need Solfege-Worksheet-1. Please print this worksheet if you are able (you can also view it on a computer/tablet and write your answers on a separate paper, if needed.). If you are unable to attend the livestream rehearsal, please still try complete this worksheet and continue to practice your music on a weekly basis! We want to help keep every singer continue to make music and sing!

Please also look back at blog posts from previous weeks for recordings of some of our performance pieces to aide you in your practice.

All my best,

Amy
