Dear Bravi and VTG,
Monday’s was a long rehearsal for sure, but you pushed through it well. Thank you for your good attitudes about whatever you are asked to do – you sounded even better (and more energized) after you came in from your run around the parking lot! 😉
As a reminder: there is no rehearsal this coming week; we will resume the next week (February 22nd). Then, the following week, you will be recording your Winter Concert repertoire. Therefore, next rehearsal will be our last time to work on those songs. Please make sure that you are ready for this final run-through before our recording. I was particularly encouraged with how good Go Tell It was sounding this week. Please work just a bit more on this and, baritones particularly, please don’t rely entirely on a certain member to lead you as you have in the past – make sure you are ready to sing accurately yourself.
Let me stress – I want to run through our entire recording repertoire next rehearsal. Please make absolutely certain that you know everything as accurately as you should.
VTG, you know that we are adding Besame Mucho, The Girl from Impanema, and One Note Samba to your repertoire as well for your concert on April 2nd. You are responsible to learn this on your own – please follow through well on this responsibility.
Please, all, work to perfect your tone on Seven Bridges Road as you practice. Not a heavy sound at all, but clear, bright, and well supported. If you have extra time, please also cover Tristeza and Double Shot.
I’ll see you all in two weeks!
