Dear Bravi and VTG,
The concert is upon us! At this point, you should have all your rep learned; please make sure that you brush up on any little spots that you are still unsure of. That being said, I feel like you are very ready for the concert. Seven Bridges sounded so good with the drum and guitar – just remember not to oversing, particularly at the end when we go back to singing a cappella. Keep Red Red Rose in your tenor sound, and you’ll be fine. Please spend a bit more time on that one practicing a legato, light tone – particularly on the 4/4 section (“As fair art thou…”). Also, please make sure that your words are accurate for Besame Mucho. As far as the other combined pieces – just don’t oversing; I think that is our biggest issue right now. You sound great – you don’t need to push your sound any louder.
Oh yeah – and, smile!!! 🙂
Make sure that you get rest before the concert tomorrow, and just go in with a positive attitude. I know that you will sound very good, and I will look forward very much to conducting you!
Here’s the specific info below. I’ve copied it from the Vocalise blog and edited it to make it specific to you.
Below is a list of all the repertoire for the Spring Concert on 5/4 (in concert order). Please use this to prepare for Wednesday and Saturday.
Pieces marked with an asterisk (*) will also be sung at the All-Choir Concert on Saturday 5/14. You will also be singing “El Pambiche Lento (SSA Only),” “Come and Sing,” and “Give Us Hope” at that concert.
