Signe Boyer xx 

Signe Boyer, Board Emerita

Signe Boyer was the Founder and Artistic Director of Cantabile Children’s Chorus from 1994 – 2004. Signe realized the need for comprehensive music education for young children in the Bay Area and worked tirelessly to fill that niche, providing much needed choral music education and performance opportunities for young people. For over 35 years Ms.Boyer taught music education in Oklahoma, Texas, the Palo Alto and San Jose school districts, Hillbrook School in Los Gatos and Keys School in Palo Alto. In addition she has started senior choirs at Lytton Gardens in Palo Alto and the San Bruno Senior Center, and was the Assistant Conductor of the Baroque Choral Guild.Under her direction, Cantabile toured on three occasions to England, Italy and Vienna, singing with the Vienna Boys Choir. The choir premiered works by contemporary composers such as Libby Larsen, Brian Holmes, Sondra Clark, Henry Mollicone and Craig Bohmler. Cantabile collaborated with other musical organizations such as Peninsula Women’s Chorus, Baroque Choral Guild, Philharmonia Baroque, San Jose Symphony Orchestra, Peninsula Orchestra and Schola Cantorum.

Ms. Boyer holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Syracuse University, is Kodaly trained and studied choral conducting with Dr. Charlene Archibeque at San Jose State and Dr. Patricia Hennings at Skyline College. She taught the Yamaha Music Education for fifteen years, was a private piano teacher and youth choir director at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Burlingame.

She is a member of the American Choral Directors Association where she served as the Repertoire and Standards Chair for children’s choirs for three years, and the California Music Educators Association and Chorus America. The San Jose Mercury News honored her with a teacher of the week award in 1998.

Ian Feinberg has more than 30 years of experience focused on patent, copyright, trademark and trade secret litigation with deep expertise in licensing, unfair competition and antitrust , primarily focused in the software and semiconductor industries. He has represented such famous companies as Adobe , Monster Cable, Sony, SWIFT, Trident, Visa, and Vodafone in patent litigation, as well as much smaller companies.

Ian has had the pleasure of watching and listening to Cantabile at Carnegie Hall, Chicago Symphony Hall and venues throughout Silicon Valley for several years, and has borne witness to the rapid maturation of Cantabile singers, including his own daughter, under the guidance of Cantabile's outstanding artistic staff.

Jeff Wright, Vice President
     Chair, Finance

Jeff is Senior Director of Business Models & Analytics at the design software company, Autodesk. Jeff is responsible for leading the transformation of Autodesk's business model to cloud-based subscription offerings.  He is also responsible for optimizing Autodesk's marketing investments through market research and customer analytics.  Jeff's earlier roles at Autodesk included General Manager of the Autodesk Seek business unit, Corporate Development Manager, and Subscription Program Director. Prior to Autodesk, Jeff was a Consultant with Bain & Company, where he helped technology companies solve strategic and operational problems.  Jeff started his career as an analyst with investment banks in both London and New York.

Jeff has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics from Hamilton College. He is also a proud parent of two Cantabile singers.

Lori Mirek, Board Emerita

Lori currently serves as a board director of the Harvard Business School Alumni Association of Northern California and the World Affairs Council of California. She has recently served as a board director of the United Nations Association of the USA, Cantabile Youth Singers (past President), and the Squaw Valley 22 Station Homeowners Association (past President) while also being active on the Stanford Stroke Center Advisory Council, the San Francisco Opera Board’s Marketing Advisory Committee, and her childrens' Parents’ Association Board (past President).  In her professional career, Lori was Chief Executive Officer of Currenex, Senior Vice President and General Manager of AOL’s Business Solutions division, and President of Ameritech’s Electronic Commerce business.  She also held various executive roles at Netscape, Oracle, and Sun.  Lori earned a Masters degree in Business Administration from Harvard University and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan.  

Both of Lori's children have sung with Cantabile Youth Singers.

Julia Zarcone
     Co-Chair, Development

Julia Zarcone is a consultant, teacher and integrative health care professional. She currently works with the Gruter Institute for Law and Behavioral Research located in Portola Valley and also maintains a private practice in integrative wellness and education. She currently serves on the Los Altos Hills Parks and Recreation Committee and is the former Chair. She also serves on the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork as an advisor. Formerly, Julia was an Assistant Professor and Program Director for the Integrative Health Studies program at CIIS. Julia has also worked as a program manager in psychosocial research at the Stanford University Medical School. Julia has an MA in Interdisciplinary Social Science from SFSU and a BA in Literature and Poetry with a minor in Art History and French from UCLA. She also attended the Sorbonne.

Julia enjoys Cantabile’s performances around the Bay Area and is proud of her Cantabile singer.
