Weekly SCOOP, 9/11/06
What a great first rehearsal with Elena, Shane, Keri, and Mary! I enjoyed seeing so many of you again, and the singers sounded fantastic. An additional welcome to our new students!! I can't wait to hear everyone sing in December. Each week on Monday I will be sending you a short weekly announcement, which I will call the weekly "scoop." Once a month you will also receive a summary of the next month's major dates. These letters, forms, and announcements will be available on our website in member files. Here is the SCOOP for the week of September 11:
FORMS
Please make sure you have turned in all forms listed below. If not, please turn them in to Karen at rehearsal this Thursdsay, or mail to: CYS, 953 Industrial Ave, Suite 118, Palo Alto, Ca, 94303. We ask that singers are registered by the week of Sept. 18th in order to continue attending rehearsals.
• Cantabile Registration form
• Foothill K-12 form with all required signatures
• Foothill Registration form
• Volunteer form
• Uniform form (for new and growing kids only)
• Conflict form with singer's name
• Jones Gulch permission form for retreat
VOLUNTEER HELP NEEDED
We are counting on you this year! Many thanks to families who have already contacted us - much appreciated! Here are some special requests for September.
• Chaperones for Jones Gulch Retreat, Sept. 15-17/ We will pay your room and board! We still need 3-4 parents to help with this. IT'S FUN! If you are able to help for all or part of the weekend, please let us know tomorrow if possible.
• Snacks for Wednesday rehearsals. We will have a sign up sheet available at rehearsal, so families can pick a date that is convenient to bring in food.
• Choir parent - Willing to help supervise students in a quick clean up after rehearsal ends at 8:45
• Back to Cantabile Night, Wed. Sept. 20th- able to help with set up at 4:30, and clean up at 7:30. Assistance with bringing food.
JONES GULCH RETREAT SEPT 15-17
We must have a final head count by tomorrow, Monday. If you have not turned in your conflict form via email or in person, PLEASE EMAIL ME ONLY IF YOU ARE NOT COMING. If I don't hear from you, I assume you are coming!
• Forms regarding what to bring to the retreat were included in your packet as well as a map to the site.
• Please let me know via email if your singer is a vegetarian by tomorrow, Monday
MESSAGE FROM ELENA:
• Elena would love if all singers could email her at elena@cantabile.org so that she has everyone's email address for her weekly musical notes. All she requests is a message with a "hello" and the name to put together a contact list. If parents prefer to receive this note themselves, Elena asks that is will be given to the singer to read right away. Thanks everyone for your help and communication!
WE ARE GLAD YOU ARE PART OF CANTABILE! PLEASE HELP US SPREAD THE WORD BY BRINGING YOUR FRIENDS TO SING!
