Lori Bammesberger is a highly sought after choral conductor, clinician, voice teacher and soprano soloist. Originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado, Ms. Bammesberger earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas and a Master’s in Voice Performance and Opera from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. After completing her Master's degree, Lori returned to Colorado Springs where she set up a thriving private voice studio, began singing with the Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble, the Colorado Opera Festival and Opera Theatre of the Rockies. Opera performances include Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus and Anna Maurrant in Street Scene, as well as appearances in Suor Angelica, Gianni Schicchi, Samson et Dalila, The Ballad of Baby Doe and Lucia di Lammermoor. Ms. Bammesberger is also an accomplished performer of concert repertoire ranging from Handel's Messiah and Mozart's Exsultate Jubilate to Mendelssohn's Elijah and Rutter's Mass of the Children. In 2001, Ms. Bammesberger accepted a position with the Colorado Springs Children's Chorale and her passion for working with children was born. After several years conducting one of the training ensembles and serving as the organization's vocal coach, she was invited to conduct the Chorale’s top treble ensemble. Under her direction, the Pikes Peak Singers became known for their warm, clear vocal tone and visual expression of the text along with a deep, sincere connection with audiences. Because of these artistic qualities and a reputation of musical excellence, the ensemble was invited to perform several newly composed works such as Lori Laitman's oratorio, Vedem, a work that tells the story of young boys interred at the Terezin concentration camp and Ofer Ben-Amots’ opera, The Dybbuk. Ms. Bammesberger's young singers also had many opportunities to collaborate with professional musicians like Melissa Manchester, Patrick Cassidy and Shirley Jones, Broadway performers Marin Mazzie, Jason Danieley and Marcus Lovett, as well as jazz saxaphonist and flutist Nelson Rangell. The Pikes Peak Singers toured the state of Colorado annually and also toured nationally and internationally, participating in such competitions as the Golden Gate International Children's Choral Festival and traveling to South Africa, Italy and Australia. Ms. Bammesberger’s choirs have performed at the Colorado Music Educators Association conference and at state, regional and national conferences of the American Choral Directors Association. Lori served two terms as the Children’s Choir Repertoire & Standards Chair for the Colorado chapter of ACDA. Ms. Bammesberger is thrilled to join the artistic faculty of Cantabile for the 2017-2018 season as Associate Conductor and Musicianship Curriculum Director.
